ALGERIA FACTS

  • Population :32,814,000
  • Language is Arabic, French, and Berber
  • Religion : Sunni Muslim
  • Life expectancy is 70

OUR PRODUCT

  • We choose Algeria as our country because it is a poor country and should have updated technology that can help save their citizens during floods or earthquakes.

HOW A HOT AIR BALLOONS FLY USING DENSITY & BUOYANCY

  • Hot air is less dense than cool air; the heated air causes the balloon to rise simply because it is lighter than an equal volume of cold air.
  • Buoyancy is an upward force that the air exerts, and it helps hot-air balloons and blimps stay in the air.
  • Air pressure and gravity helps a hot air ballon float in the air. Objects of a material of higher density than the fluid can still float if it has a suitable shape that allows keeping air below the surface level of the fluid.

HOW A HOT AIR BALLOONS FLY USING DENSITY & BUOYANCY

  • For buoyancy to push something up in the air, the thing has to be lighter than an equal volume of the air around it. Density is a way to measure how tightly packed an object is. Denser objects have less empty space in them, they are less spacey. The density of an object is often measured in grams per milliliter.

Natural/Manmade disasters in Algeria

  • Northern Algeria is within an earthquake zone.
  • Parts of Algeria are prone to serve flood damage.
  • One of the Largest earthquakes Algeria has had was a magnitude of 8.6. Killing 20,000 people (1716)
  • Algeria hasn't had any extremely flood disasters since 2001.

HOW CLIMATE AND WEATHER CAN EFFECT ZEPPELINS FLIGHT

  • During the summer Algeria's climate is high.
  • It's very hot and dry the temperatures go from 75 Degrees to 85 Degrees.
  • In September-December it decreases.
  • It is humid along the coast.

HOW CLIMATE AND WEATHER CAN EFFECT ZEPPELINS FLIGHT

  • Winds in Algeria are frequent and violent but right now the wind is 12 mph northwest and our Zeppelin will fly with a little bumps but for the most part it will fly smooth.

ADVANTAGES OF AN AERIAL OBSERVATION ZEPPELIN

  • You have eyes on the ground without being on the ground.
  • Can help emergency services during a flood or earthquake.

DISADVANTAGES OF AN AERIAL OBSERVATION ZEPPELIN

  • It's big and takes up a lot of space
  • It can be expensive. Especially in Algeria where the GDP per capita is $5, 360.70 (US dollars).

CONTROLLING ZEPPELINS

  • A controller translates a person's brain impulses into a language that the computer understands.
  • The importance of being in control of your Zeppelin: you will be able to have control of the place your Zeppelin, and what time it gets there. And if anything ever happens you'll be able to move Zeppelin to a different area.

MATH CONCEPT

  • Our equation is in vertex form
  • The hot air ballon starts at 5:23 and the maximum height is at 5:40 and stops at 6:05
  • There is 17 seconds between the start and maximum height and from the maximum height from the stop it is 25 ft.
  • The formula is f(x)= a(x-h)^2+k and the vertex is (h,k)

MATH CONCEPT

  • 0=a (42-17)^2+25
  • 0=a(25)^2+25 and minus 25 on each sides
  • -25=a(25)^2
  • -24=a(625)
  • Divide 625 on both sides
  • A= -.04
  • Y= -.04(X-17)^2+25
