BACKGROUND INFO.

• Many destitute people were working on farms and industrial jobs on minimum wage
• Porfirio Diaz's dictatorship made the gov't attack the poor and gives it to the wealthy
• Middle-class reformers, accompanied by peasants, abdicated Porfirio, Mexico's economy worsens.

ECONOMIC IMPROVEMENTS

• Growth in industrialization lead to the demand for resources
• Copper mines were greatly invested to increase economic growth
• Copper is used to conduct electricity and lead to radical changes in the gov't
• Porfirio's policy wanted to centralize the gov't, thus manufacturing of copper inundated.
