  • Rattlesnakes are poisonous reptiles. They are 2 to 8 feet (2.4 meters) long. Rattlesnakes have rattles on their tails.

  • Rattlesnakes eat rats, lizards, birds, and other small animals. Rattlesnakes bite their prey with sharp fangs. Their strong venom quickly kills the prey.

  • Female rattlesnakes have four to 30 babies at one time. Baby rattlesnakes can hunt as soon as they are born. Some rattlesnakes live for 30 years.
