PRESENTATION OUTLINE
How do these bacteria fight off viruses
- They let out a signal to warn other bacteria cells to change their DNA
- They use shield that are impenetrable to viruses
- They also kill themselves and shuts off if all else fails.
Why is this "war" so important
Untitled Slide
- Bacteria is what makes life on Earth possible
- If the viruses destroy them, then humans are in trouble
- Half the oxygen we breath is from these phytoplanktons
in animals
- E. Coli live in the digetsive tracts of animals to aid digestion
- Lactic Acid Bacteria also converts foods like milk into other food
- They are key in production of medicines, like antibiotics and human insulin.
It's a nitrogen-fixing bacterium that is common in the soil, esp. in the root nodules of leguminous plants.
Rhizobia, are able to perform biological nitrogen fixation and atmospheric oxygen is converted into the ammonia plants are able to use to synthesize proteins.
