What are communicable diseases?

• The categories are virus, bateria, fungi and parasites.
• They are treated by having a tests taken and then the you get results.

How do aids spread?

• Sexual contact
• Injection drug use
• Pregnancy, Childbrith, Breastfeeding
• Blood transfusion/Organ transplant

Define Aids

• There is a severe loss of the body's cellular immuntiy.
• Aids stands for acquired  immunodeficiency syndrome.

Causative Organism

• Unprotected sex with someone who has HIV.
• Or sharing needles with someone that is infected.

How do you get AIDS?

• Blood (including menstrual blood)
• Semen/Ejaculate
• Vaginal seretions
• Breast milk

What is Incubation Periods?
The period between exposure to an infection and the appearance of the first symptoms.

Symptoms/Signs

• Rapid weight loss - Pneumonia
• Recurring fever - Sores of mouth
• Night sweats - Blothes under skin
• Extreme and unexplained tiredness
• Diarrhea that last for weeks

Complications of AIDS

• Tuberculosis ( most common)
• Weakening of the immune system.
• Kidney disease 
• Nerurological complications
• Sexuallt transmitted infections

Diagnosis

• HIV tests is designed to detect antibodies
• Antibodies are produced by your body when you have infections
• Your body makes specific antibodies to fight infections
• If your body is producing the antibodies you do have HIV
• HIV tests do not mean you have AIDS, how long you have been infected does

Treatment

• There is no cure for AIDS yet.
• Medications can help fight HIV
• The medications can help
