Cleft Lip

Causes:
It is unknown, however, scientists believe that cleft lip is due to genetic and environmental factors

Symptoms/characteristics:
People with cleft lip may have speech problems, eating problems, and dental problems.

Treatment/prevention

• Multiple surgeries over 18 years
• 1-2 surgeries in first 3 months
• At 8 years: bone graft

Life span:

Normal life expectancy
