PRESENTATION OUTLINE

ICMA Online

A presentation to the Board

ICMA's website is a source of information for members and potential members, while also serving as a portal for membership payments and member-only features

The current website's architecture reflects a migration from the two prior websites

Direct access to the digital version of Gesta via ICMA's website is now available rather than the double login currently in place

The medieval art community is very active on social media. ICMA needs a stronger voice in this community.

Step 1: Website design and navigation

  • Create a new content map with more intuitive navigation
  • Emphasize places to join and support ICMA
  • Create a clear point of entry for member-only access
  • Direct people toward "Community News:" page for CFPs, conferences, etc

Step 2: Member Portal

  • Set-up direct access to Gesta online
  • Streamline database so member IDs can be assigned
  • Add other member-only content such as the newsletter

Step 3: Social Media

  • Automate linked posts on Twitter/Facebook  from Community News page
  • More actively participate in conversations on Twitter
  • Initiate LinkedIn  members page for professional networking and connections

Step 4: ICMA Blog

  • Share shorter, more informal news and reports than the newsletter
  • Invite members to guest post
  • Have regular features such as Student Committee news
  • Use the blog as an additional tool to point people toward ICMA events
  • All blogposts will be linked to social media
