Student Activism in the late 1960's and early 1970's

Ezell Blair Jr, Franklin McCain, Joseph Mcneill and David Richmond asked to be served. Within two weeks sit-ins in eleven cities happened by African American students. It lead to civil right and the black power movement.

In 1962 students gathered and wrote the Port Huron Statement and established Students for a Democratic Society. They organized anti war protests and everything anti war.

Many died in Cambodia, Kent State and Jackson State

Students demonstrations and strikes averaged 100 per day. Over 500 colleges shut down.
