Odysseus goes back to Aeaea where he buries Elpenor and where his spends one more night with Circe. She tells him about how his voyage back home will be, and Odysseus tells his crew. Circe then demands that all of the crews ears have to be filled with bees wax so they don't have to hear the song coming from Siren's Island. Odysseus is then tied to the mast of the ship, and every time he asks to be untied the crew just ties it tighter. Next Odysseus and his crew set sail and do their best to avoid Charybdis.
Odysseus and the crew then decide to stop at an island called Thrinacia so they can rest, but a storm hits and keeps them on the island for a month. One day while Odysseus was sleeping his crew went and killed all of the cattle on the island, which makes Zeus mad, so when they set sail again he whips up a storm destroying the boat and killing everyone but Odysseus. He is then left with only a little piece of wood to float on which eventually brings him back to Calypso's Island.
Odysseus went from being a normal man just exploring and then after that, wanting to go back home. But now he is a total daredevil, and is always living as if it's his last day on earth.
