Question
Can colored water change
A color of a flower?
Hypothesis
I don't think that the flower
Would change its color in the colored water.
Materials
- 3 white flowers
- Food coloring
- Water
- Cups
PROCEDURE
- I will cut the stem of a white flower in half.
- I will get water and pour food coloring and put the flowers in the water
- I will observe the white flower.
- Let it sit for about 4-6 hours
Results
The results were that the flowers did Chang the color of the food coloring.
Why did it change color?
Most plants drink water from the ground through their roots. The water travels up the stem of the plant into the leaves where it makes food. When a flower is cut, it no longer has its roots, but the stem of the flower still drinks up the water and provides it to the leaves and flowers. Which changes the color of the flower.
Conclusion
Our Hypothesis was wrong the flowers did change color after all.
