MOUTH

  • First your teeth break down the food into smaller pieces so that way it can be swallowed
  • Then your saliva moistens it

Esophagus
After you have swallowed the food it now is in the esophagus which contracts and sends food to the stomach

Stomach
Now the little bit of food is in the stomach. The stomach uses muscles, acids, and chemicals to turn the food and break it into even smaller pieces. Once that is done the glop of food now moves into the small intestine.

Small intestine
Now it arrives and the intestines have little fingers that absorb nutrients that go into the blood. Most of the digestion happens here. After this it goes into the large intestine.

Large intestine
This helps get ride of waste and absorbs the water on the food back into the blood. Now it goes to the anus.

Anus
After all these steps it is finally reached the end of the digestive system. It finally exits the body.
