THE PENNSYLVANIA COLONY

The founder of the Pennsylvania colony was Willian Penn. It's name means "Penn Forest", after his father.

It was established for religious freedom for Quakers. It was also to reestablish the English colonization of the Americas.

The first settlers were Quakers. They did this for religious freedom.

The geography had mountains, a coastal plain, and fertile soil. The climate was mild with warm summers and mild winters.

They were famous for growing crops, especially wheat. But the also manufactured iron products like plows

Their religion at first was Quaker. But then it had many other religious groups like Catholics, Lutherans, and Jews among others.

They laws allowed religious freedom and trial by jury. Also freedom of the press and limitation of the death penalty.
