ACTS OF THE APOSTLES

21:15-40

PAUL AND JAMES ARRIVES IN JERUSALEM

  • Paul tells them what God has accomplished through
  • Gentiles through his ministry
  • Paul and the others were warmly welcomed by the brothers
  • The brothers give Paul four men who vowed their life
  • to God to purify them

PAUL ARRIVES IN JERUSALEM

  • The Gentiles chose to abstain from meat sacrifice to idols,
  • from blood, from meat of strangled animals, and
  • from unlawful marriage
  • Paul took the men after purification to the temple

PAUL IS ATTACKED

  • Paul was accused of going against the law
  • and beliefs and for bringing Greeks into the temple
  • And for defiling the sacred temple
  • Paul was then seized by the people and was dragged from
  • the temple. People then attempted to kill Paul

PAUL'S ARREST

  • Paul was being attacked, until they
  • saw the commander and soldiers come
  • They then arrested Paul and secured him with
  • two chains
  • Paul was then sent to the compound to be held

PAUL SPEAKS TO THE PEOPLE

  • After Paul talks to the guards he
  • resolved the problem
  • The guards then let him talk to the crowd
  • Paul then goes and preaches to them in Hebrew

VERSE 39

  • Paul answered, “I am a Jew, of Tarsus in Cilicia,
  • a citizen of no mean city,"
  • I request you to permit me to speak to the people.

VERSE 40

  • When he had given his permission,Paul stood on the steps and
  • motioned, with his hand to the people; and when
  • all was quiet he addressed them in Hebrew.
