  • Abortion occurs prior to birth in 9/10 babies with DS

SYMPTOMS OF DS

  • There are over fifty (one person has a select amount)
  • Weak muscle tone
  • Trouble with speech
  • Slight to severe retardation
  • Heart defects

HOW LONG DO PEOPLE LIVE WITH DS?

  • They can now live to over 50 years old
  • This statistic has increased 400% over the years

WHICH BODY SYSTEMS ARE AFFECTED?

  • Almost all of them
  • However, in one child not all of them will be affected
