NUTRITION REQUIREMENTS

  • Their feeding requirements depend on their age and gender.
  • They depend on a diet mainly of hay.
  • Sweet smelling, non dusty, second cut grass or grass/legume hay is ideal for all and should be fed free choice.

REPRODUCTION

  • The nigerian dwarf goat gives birth to a baby
  • The nigerian dwarf goat holds the baby for about 7 months.

USES OF THE GOAT

  • Dwarf bucks are used for breeding.
  • Does can give 3-4 lbs of milk a day.
  • 6%-10% of the milk is butterfat.

  • Some of their enemies are; Wolves, Coyotes, Dogs, Wild dogs,
  • The Nigerian dwarf goat was recovered of the endangered list.
