Junius Brutus Booth and his mistress Mary Ann Holmes came to the US from England in June of 1821

They purchased a 150-acre farm where John Wilkes Booth was born in a log house May of 1838

He was ninth out of ten children. He had two brothers, Edwin and Junius, and one sister, Asia Booth

Junius Booth was granted a divorce in 1851and legally wed John's father on young John's birthday

As a young child, Booth was skilled in athletics such as fencing and horsemanship

Booth attended Bel Air Academy (now known as Bel Air High School) 1850-1851 He attended the Quaker-run Milton Boarding School for Boys in Sparks, Maryland
