PRESENTATION OUTLINE

NUCLEUS

  • The control center of the cell.
  • It contains the cells DNA.

MITOCHONDRIA

  • Energy center or power house of the cell.
  • Turns food into useable energy (ATP)

GOLGI APPARATUS

  • Process, packages & secretes proteins
  • Like a factory
  • It's such a fun word to say 😊

VACUOLE

  • Stores water and other substances.
  • Plant cells contain a large central vacuole.

RIBOSOMES AND LYSOSOME

  • Ribosomes make protein
  • Lysosome contains digestive enzymes
  • It's breaks things down.
  • Suicide sac

CHLOROPLAST

  • Uses sunlight to create food
  • Photosynthesis (only found in plant cells)

CELL MEMBRANE

  • It's the outer boundary of the cell wall.

CYTOPLASM

  • It's like jelly
  • Like fluid interior of the cell

ENDOPLASMIC RETICULUM

  • Transport,"intracellular highway".
  • Ribosomes are positioned along the rough er
  • Protein made by the ribosomes enter the ER for transport

CELL WALL

  • It's a strong layer outside the cell membrane
  • It provides the cell structure and support
  • They aren't found in animal cells.

NUCLEOLUS

  • Contains most of the genes.
  • Contains the entire DNA of the cell
  • It's used to create the building blocks of the cell proteins
