KNOWN FOR

  • Is known for his 9 paradoxes
  • Two of them which are most common to modern day
  • Created the idea of infinity

- He helped people come to the conclusion of reality
- Ex) "offered arguments that led to conclusions contradicting what we all know from our physical experience–that runners run, that arrows fly, and that there are many different things in the world. "

- The conclusions were known as paradoxes because it has to do with his theory of infinity. Anything in the world is possible and realistically can be infinite

-"first person in history to show that the concept of infinity is problematical"
-Meaning that infinity is possible and is possible to exist. Therefore creating a theory that is capable of lasting forevermore
- Argues that motion is an illusion

INFLUENCES/INFLENCING

  • By applying mathematical concepts to the natural/real world
  • Pythagoras
  • Mostly everything from Zeno comes from Aristotle
  • Influences the people from the time of creation to modern day
