PRESENTATION OUTLINE

DECIDUOUS FOREST

BY: KIRK KURER AND FERNANDO ORTEGA LOPEZ

Human Impacts

  • Forest destruction
  • Cut down trees for paper, furniture, and homes.
  • Loss of population of many wild animals from hunting and less conquered land (Deer)
  • Overpopulation in various areas (Towns in china, dense towns)
  • Pollution in various areas (Wisconsin, Illinois)

LIST

  • It's area is located all over the world
  • A very human-populated area
  • Humans live here, as well as many types of wild animals (foxes, eagles, deer)
  • Also various rodents (opossum, skunk, rats), but not many large-hunting animals(cougar)
  • Is unique because it makes up large proportions of available, habitable land for humans

LIST CONT'D

  • Many types of trees and plants live here
  • Examples are fungi, fruit trees, and roses and daphodiles
  • The climate ranges, it can be very cold in winter times, but very warm in spring and summer
  • A good example for that is wisconsin's climate

QUESTIONS

  • The cause of the destruction of this biome is due to large population growth of humans, and more space needed
  • This happened way back in ancient times, in the B.C. Ages, and still is going on today.
  • It's gone on for thousands of years.
  • It dates back to ancient civilizations like Ancient Rome, and other Indian tribes
  • The humans are mostly to blame, humans of all races have used this biome to civilize in.

QUESTIONS

  • The problem is continuing to grow with the expansion in human population
  • The impacts on the biome are, torn down natural features, death of many animals, and expansion of humanized land.
  • Future impacts on the biome are, eventual extinction of deciduous forests, large loss of natural features, large amounts of humanized land.
