PRESENTATION OUTLINE
El Capricho was designed by Gaudi, but wasn't built until 1883-1885 under the architect Cascante Colom.
The project was commissioned by Máximo Díaz de Quijano to be his personal summer home. He wanted it built in Comillas, close to his brother-in-law's palace.
The outside walls are made of different colored bricks. They are decorated with ceramic tile.
A highlight of the building is the cylindrical tower, which is decorated with sunflowers. The windows have references to music and nature.
The building now has
restaurant inside.
