Rising Action: Walace took over the play "Old Sheep My Pal". Mr. Fogelman was the old director and released Walace from detention so he could be the director again. Walace quit the football team to be in the play as the director. Mr. Fogelman does not know that Walace quit the football team. Walace is back in charge of the play. The scripts were tore apart and Walace Walace's football scrimmage jerse was there to frame Walace. Now everyone hates Walace even the one who loved him Trudi. Durning the play Rachel's brother put a cherry bomb on the stuffed animal dog and Walace saved the play. Rachel pulled him out and asked him who did it. Walace said he did it when he didn't and Rachel punched him. They found out who did it and they grounded him. The next day Walace was avoided Rachel and then at lunch Walace asked Rachel out and Trudi got Steve as her date.
Themes: When you do something bad, you suffer the consequence. When Joey vandalized the play he had to suffer staying in his room for a long time. He was punished also because his sister was in it.
If you work hard, it will pay off in life. When Walace was working hard on the play it payed off. When it was opening night the play went well.
Even though Walace didn't like the play, he still helped it. He helped the play when he was in detention. When he got out of detention he still helped.
When you do something good, it will pay off later. When Walace helped the play it turned out well. He saved the play from burning down.
If you help others, other will help you. When Walace helped Rachel the play went well. When Rachel helped Walace she saved his life.
Point of view: In No More Dead Dogs the narrator's point of view changes through the story. It changes by the chapter. Some characters are Walace, Mr. Foggleman, Rachel, Trudie, and Joey. Walace tells most of the story. The story is told by different characters through out the story.
Compare Contrast They both have a problem. One has a racis problem and one has a friend problem. If you work hard it will pay off. One is working on a play and one is working on making the MLB. If you help others others will help you. if you do something bad, you suffer the punnishment. they are both famous. when you do something good it will pay off later in life. both campions. both play sports.
1. Never give up on your dream. Jackie Robinson was a colored man and he wanted to play baseball. Jackie was working hard and he was drafted by the Kansas City Monarchs in the negro league. A scout for the Brooklyn Dodgers saw Jackie and he asked Jackie to play for his team. Jackie Robinson was the first colored man in professional sports.
2. The color of someone's skin doesn't matter, what matters is what is inside them. Jackie Robinson proved that by playing in the MLB. Before that they had different things for different colors of skin.
3. Always do your best. Jackie Robinson always tried his hardest and he got to play in the MLB.
Jackie Robinson responded to not getting a chance to talk to the manager by trying harder. When he was trying harder he got picked to play on a team in the nergo league. He was playing his best and was inproving. A scout for the Brooklyn Dodgers was looking for a player for his team. Jackie Robinson got picked to play for them. He was the first colored player in pro sports. He got booed a lot because the fans didn't like that he was colored. When Jackie first stepped on the field the color barrier was broken.
Quote: "Did you happen to mention you were colored?" Jackie Robinson didn't mention that he was colored for his appointment. He needed to because blacks were treated poorly.
Lessons in my life: If you work hard, it will pay off later in life. This relates to my life because in sports when you work hard you may win. In hockey my team was down 4-0 at one point and we didn't give up. We ended up winning 8-4. That is why you work hard and don't give up.
