NEWTON'S FIRST LAW

  • An object at rest will stay at rest, and an object that is moving will continue moving unless acted upon by an unbalanced force.
  • Example: If you parked your bike it will remain at rest until some unbalanced force puts it in motion

NEWTON'S SECOND LAW

  • This law of motion explains how force, mass, and acceleration are related
  • Example: If Mike was pushing his car he would have to add lots of force because of the mass of his car, this represents Newton's second law.

NEWTON'S THIRD LAW

  • For every action there is an equal and opposite reaction. For every force exerted,an equal force is exerted in the opposite direction
  • Example: If a person was on a skateboard and throwing a basketball (not wise) they would go back because of Newton's law.
