• It was the bloodiest single battle.
• More soldiers where killed /wounded than the deaths of all Americans in the revolution.

BATTLE OF SHILOH

• It helped the north.
• Each side lost and gained ground.
• The confederates ended retreating.

BATTLE OF VICKSBURG

• The battle lasted about six weeks.
• The union gained the Mississippi River.
• The south surrendered because they ran out of food.

EMANCIPATION PROCLAMATION

• It was when Abe said that all slaves should be free.
• Only a few plantation let there slaves free.

GETTYSBURG

• The first day Lee's troops pushed General Meade's soldiers back.
• The union had to dig in on top of two hills
