  • Chewing tobacco is a type of smokeless tobacco product.
  • Chewing tobacco comes as long strands of loose leaves, plugs, or twists of tobacco.
  • The nicotine in the piece of chewing tobacco is absorbed through the mouth tissues.
  • Snuff is finely ground tobacco packaged in cans or pouches. It’s sold as dry or moist.

INGREDIENTS IN CHEWING TOBACCO

  • Acetaldehyde: An irritant of the skin, eyes, mucous membranes, throat and respiratory tract.
  • Arsenic: A poisonous element used in metallurgy and science. This ingredient is highly poisonous.
  • Uranium 235: An ingredient used in nuclear weapons.
  • Nitrosamines: Cancer causing chemicals found in cosmetics, rubber, latex and pesticides.
