A is for Affection
Affection is what Sodapop shows Ponyboy in most situations. When Darry is yelling at Ponyboy for something, Sodapop shows affection for the situation. When Ponyboy was beaten by the Socs, Sodapop was there to be affectionate.

B is for Blade
Blade is what the Socs wanted to use to cut off Ponyboy's hair. A blade is what a Soc held against his neck when they jumped him. A blade is what Darry told Ponyboy he needed to carry around for protection.

C is for Cherry
Cherry is a Soc girl that Ponyboy met at the movies with Johnny. Her real name was Sherri, but she had bright red cherry colored hair so that's what people called her. Cherry was a cheerleader at the same school Ponyboy attended.

D is for Darrel
Darrel is Ponyboy’s oldest brother. Darrel, known as “Darry,” is raising Ponyboy because their parents died in a car crash. Darry picks on Pony and always wants him to be better then he is.

E is for eyed.
Eyed is what the boys did to pretty girls they saw. Dally eyed Cherry and Marcia just to make them upset. That is how they all became friends in the long run, though.

F is for fights
The gang of Greasers were always looking for a good fight. The boys had all been or were going to be in at least one fight. The night the boys met the Soc girls Dally almost started a fight.

G is for Greaser
Greaser is a name the group of boys that slick their hair back get called by the Socs. Greasers are usually poor and expected to be dumb. The Greasers are also found on the East side of town.

H is form hair
The greasers were proud of their hair, that's how you could tell they were greasers. When Johnny and Ponyboy ran away, they had to cut their hair. Finally Pony had to dye his. He no longer had the best hair in town, Soda did.
