SHOPLIFTING

Shoplifting -
a form of larceny in which items are taken from a store without payment or the intention to pay

Example: A store employee waits until his shift ends. He fills a bag with snacks and drinks with no intent to pay for them. He walks out.

Loss Prevention Agency(LPA)
are agents who keep an eye on customers in a store.

One method used to capture shoplifters is video cameras , which are placed in most stores

Although shoplifting is a misdemeanor in CA, punishments can range from a $1000 fine to a 6-month sentence in county jail
