  • Trinity 
  • Bible=One true book
  • Worship on Sunday

Beliefs of Islam

  • Koran=One true book
  • Allah=One true God
  • Muhammad=founder 
  • Ishmael=true son of Abraham 
  • Go to Mosques for worship

Purpose of Christianity's Text?

  • Bible states that there is one true God
  • He sent his own son down to die
  • Jesus is the savior to whom believe in his resssurection
  • We have an obligation to submit to God
  • The bible is part of the way to communicate with God

Purpose of Islam's Text?

  • The five pillars of faith
  • We must submit to God
  • We must love one another
  • We must give to the poor 
  • Reveals Allah's glory 

Literary Structure of the Psalms In O.T

  • Psalms are hymns(ways to sing and praise God)
  • Describes god with human like characteristics 
  • David uses Parallelism in Psalms 
  • He uses one idea in the first portion
  • Then he explains it in more in the second portion

Literary Structure of the Koran

  • Appeals to our senses through imagery 
  • Proclaims the glory of God 
  • Exordum: "Merciful Praise be to God, Lord of the Creation."
  • Imagery: "By the light of day, and by the fall of night."
  • Focuses on relationship between God and Man
