PRESENTATION OUTLINE

LIMERICK

THE SMELLY SHEEP
Sheep were eating a lot of grass.
Ate too much, had to past gas.
That smell really bad.
It made me so sad.
Hopefully the smell don't last.

SIMILE AND METAPHOR

IMAGERY

And straightway like a bell
Came low and clear
The slow, sad murmur of the distant seas.
And in the hush of waters was the sound
Of pebbles rolling round.
For ever rolling with a hollow sound.
And bubbling sea-weeds as the waters go
Their long, cold tentacles of slimy grey.

PERSONIFICATION

I live in a beach shed
I can see a table and a hovercraft
I can hear the waves crashing and a madman dashing
I have a woodworm called jerry
I am 70 redwoods old
I remember my screws coming loose
And the noise of a goose
I am afraid of German towels
I dream of Ronal woodstain
I heard a whistle
I do not understand the use of Palm Springs
My name is woody canvas

HAIKU

The sun sets above
And still I hear the sweet sound
Of one hand thumping

ALLITERATION AND ASSONANCE

The Football Game

Blitz and blocking, bump –and-run
Drive and drop kick, the other team’s done
End zone, end line, ebb and flow
Snap, sack, scrambling, I love it so
Football is fun and fabulous too
Let’s go to the stadium, just me and you

Assonance

Oh lovely orange you golden treat,
Oh tell me why aren't
You easy to eat?

ONOMATOPOEIA

Sled race

Zoom went sled one going down the screaming hill.
Whistle went sled two, drifting sled one
Bang went sled three crashing into sled four.
Clap clap clap went the crowds as sled one crossed the finish line.

FREE VERSE

Thrill Ride
Up. Up.
Click, click.
Wind blows
sharp in my ears.
My heart jumps. Skips.
It’s up. It’s up higher.
It’s up, up the highest.
Hands grasp at the clouds.
Then a forever pause. Still. Waiting.
Finally. Whoosh!
Steep drop
down,
down,
down.

NARRATIVE POETRY

One time I was tired of being young.
So, I wish myself into an old man.
But I was dying!
The children gathered around
Saying
Do not die.
Let's go out and have a day.
Look! The moon is forgiving us
With another sun.
But I was sweating, and said
It's time.
That long has hallowed itself out
And waits for me.
My old spirit already has it's shoes on.
Then I crawled into the log
With the moon just beginning
To forgive me.

PERSONAL POETRY

I am lazy and crazy.
I wonder about why I'm so lazy in life.
I hear people saying that I'm crazy of everything what they say.
I see that it's true I'm crazy.
I want to be a secret from everybody.
I am lazy and crazy.

I pretend to be crazy in school.
I feel ashamed of my self.
I touch stuff and it become crazy.
I worry about how my life will be in the future.
I cry for about my life.
I am lazy and crazy.

I understand how life it could be hard.
I say to my self stop being crazy and lazy.
I dream to have a family in the future.
I try to be nice to everybody around me.
I hope that I could be a good person.
I am lazy and crazy.

LYRIC POETRY

Did yo fall from a rainbow. While trying to touch the sky. Speaking to the blue birds. Asking the puppy fields why? Did you fall from the mountains. Whispering to the sun. Talking about forever. On shores having fun? Did you climb along the hillside. Speaking to the moon. Calling to the songs of sunshine. Whispering secrets to the loon?

FREE CHOICE

Dare To Dream

Close your eyes and let
Your imagination fly away.
See a picture of where
You wish to be one day.
Let the colors of your
Heart take command
To paint the picture of your
Dream and place it in your hand.
Hold it tightly and nurture it
But allow it room to grow.
When you reach your dream.
Open yr hand and let it go
Close your eyes and search for
Another, caring for it as before.
Never stop searching, achieving and
letting go, for that what dream is important for you.
