INDUS RIVER VALLEY CIVILIZATION

OPENING STATEMENT

  • How come the oldest civilization settled in present day pakistan?
  • What was so great about it?

CAUSES

  • It started cities and towns all up and down the river.
  • The cities still exist today.
  • India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Nepal, Sri Lanka, and Bhutan.

CHARACTERISTICS

  • Natural borders consisted of mountains and the Arabian Sea, sheltering the civilization from attack and sick.
  • The valley was a bronze age civilization extending from Afghanistan to Pakistan and northwest India.
  • One of the 3 ancient civilizations and of the most widespread, spanned across 1.25 million kilometers.
  • Flourished around the Indus river, and on the other side is desert.

SIGNIFICANCE

  • The Indus River Valley provided transportation, fish, and water.
  • They lived off of trade. Farmers brought food into the cities.
  • City workers made such things as pot, beads and cotton cloth.

Conclusion
These are some of the many reasons why the Indus River Valley Civilizations are still talked about today. Trade routes helped create new ones today. This is the civilization that got bigger populations going.
