  • Advanced Projects (60 cr)
  • The Project: Film making (60 cr)
  • Dissertation (30 cr)
  • Mediated Environments (30 cr)
  • Placement (30 cr.)

Advanced Projects (60 cr.)

  • Creative projects supervised by staff
  • Research, context, preparation - seminars and tutorials
  • Uses technical and creative skills from Years 1 and 2
  • Group or solo project (80%), write-up (20%)

The Project: Film Production (60 cr)

  • Groups (3-4)
  • 1 Directing project each, crew on others.
  • Portfolio of short films produced by the group.

Dissertation (30 cr)

  • Independent research
  • 8000-10.000 words
  • Supported by seminars in Term 1
  • Regular supervisory tutorials
  • Emphasis on process (e.g., written milestones)

Mediated Environments (30 cr)

  • Thinking creatively, critically about media technologies
  • Understanding media as an environment
  • Key critical thinkers and positions
  • Written assessment and exam, with creative project option

Creative Industries Placement (30 cr)

  • Available in Year 2 and Year 3
  • 100 hours
  • Student finds own placement, supported by staff
  • Assessment by report, logbook, employer report
