Subjunctive

  • The subjunctive is used in many ways; for example, it appears in all negative commands as well as all formal commands and is used in dependent clauses to indicate doubt, non-existence, or an emotional reaction

For all but "Irregular Verbs'

  • -ar verbs: -e, -es, -e,-emos, -éis, -en
  • -er and -ir verbs: -a, -as, -a, -amos, -áis, -an

Regular Verbs

  • Regular verbs: Attach the above endings to the present indicative stem(the infinitá,ive minus the last two letters):
  • Hablar: hable - hables - hable -hablemos- habléis - hablen

Examples

  • Pedir - Es importante que pida preguntas sobre su tarea.

  • Sacar - Es mejor que saques buenas notas
