The Persian Empire was 2.9 million square miles!
There where approximately 50,000,000 people in the Persian Empire.
The Persians demanded the people they conquered bow down and solute to the Persian King
The Army had about 1,000,000 men.
DARIUS (521-486 B.C)
- Made Persia the largest empire in the world
- Centralized the administration of the empire
- Encourage cultural &artistic pursuits
- Introduced legal reforms
- Developed juridical systems
- New capital city called Persepolis
XERXES (486-465 B.C.)
- Planned the attack on greece
- Built the army
- Lead the Artemisium and Thermopylae war to victory
- Lead the Salamis battle, but lost
