If an area was made up of small islands and was very mountainous how do you think society might develop?
Objectives
- Examine Japanese Geography.
- Analyze how this geography affects their way of life.
- Evaluate how tradition and modernity coexist in Japan today.
E.Q. - Even though Japan's geography is the same, the world has changed. How has the modern world affected Japan's culture? (Think: Movement).

Is a country with Buddhism and Shintoism as its main religions. In Shintoism, families and communities often maintained shrines dedicated to spirits, ancestors, and the gods with which they prayed to for life and guidance.
