Hans Eysenck was an English psychologist who concluded that there are two basic dimensions of personality.

STABILITY VERSUS INSTABILITY:the first dimension, refers to the degree to which people have control over their feelings.

EXTROVERSION VS. INTROVERSION: The second dimension, extraverts are more sociable and out going people, while introverts are more thoughtful, passive, and quiet.

Years later Eysenck added a third dimension called psychoticism. At one side of this dimension, people are aggressive and self centered, while on the other end people are caring and empathetic.
