PRESENTATION OUTLINE

HIV/AIDS

PRESENTATION BY PAM MASON

HISTORY:
AIDS was first thought to have originated from a homosexual man in California, back in the 1980s. Who they called Patient zero. They saw many patients start coming in around this time and later it started showing up all around the country. But scientists and doctors now know that the diesease originated from Africa all the way back to the early 1900s. HIV: The very first case of HIV infection in a person was identified in 1959. (The transfer of the HIV disease from animal to human likely occurred several decades earlier, however.) The infected person lived in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. He did not know (and research could not identify) how he was infected.
