Back Story

• I was born in 1542 in what is now Aichi Prefecture
• Spent my early childhood years as a hostage of the Imagawa clan
• In 1600 I emerged as the most powerful feudal lord in the country
• Pursued an active trade policy with the nations of Southeast Asia
• Died in 1616 at the age of 75

Accomplishments

• In 1600 I defeated the western army in the battle of Sekigahara achieving supremacy in Japan
