CANE TOAD

  • A poisonous toad, with toxic skin, and is toxic if ingested. It releases a toxin called bufotoxin. It is native to South and Central America.
  • It was introduced to Oceania, the Caribbean and northern Australia.

  • It was introduced by humans as agricultural pest control, but it eats small rotents, amphibians, birds, it also eats plants,dog food, and household refuse.
  • Females can grow as large as 10-15 i

HOW TO ELIMINATE THE TOAD

  • We could introduce SMALL cane toads in advance of the main toad invasion, so that the predator's first encounter is with a tiny toad not a big one. That would give many predators a chance to learn that toads are poisonous - and so, avoid toads from then on.
