hydropower : is energy that comes from the force of moving water.

What Type Of Resource?

Hydropower is a renewable resource.

History

-The first hydropower plant was built in 1882.

-Most dam sites had been developed in the 1940's.

How Its Used To Make Energy Part 1

The sun pulls moisture from the oceans and turns them into clouds.

How Its Used To Make Energy Step 2

Moisture is let go from the clouds as rain or snow.

How Its Used To Make Energy Step 3

The water falls to earth and the cycle starts again.

Advantages

-Doesn't cause global warming and it is clean.

Disadvantages

Methane, and carbon dioxide are realesed.

Disadvantages

-Dams alter bodys of water and often have a negative impact on fish.
