THE TOP STRIPE IS RED, MIDDLE STRIPE IS WHITE, BOTTOM STRIPE BLUE.

• The emblem has a five point star on a blue disc.
• The Paraguay flag was adopted on November 27, 1842
• making it one of the world's oldest flags. Paraguay gained independence
• from Spain on May 15, 1811. The practice of having a separate them
• on each side of the flag dates back to the time of José de Francia who was in power from 1814-1840.
