Methodism was originally established in attempt to revive the Church of England because of the disagreements Methodists had between them.
Teachings/Doctrines Today :
-God is all-powerful
-God is the creator of all things
-God is a Triune (the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit)
-Free Will
-Social Justice
-Salvation through Jesus Christ
-Grace for all people
WHAT THEY SEEN DIFFERENTLY/DISAGREED WITH:
1) Authority of all matters
(Says the Bible only has the final
authority to all matters)
2) Receiving the Eucharist
(Says Jesus is spiritually present when receiving the Eucharist)
3) The Sacraments
(Only see Baptism and Communion as Sacraments)
4) Moral Issues
(Abortion, Christian teaching, family, etc.)
