What is federalism?

A government method

Federalism is a method the government uses to have authority over an area. It follows the democratic rules.

We work as a team to create a government for the people.

Checks and balances is a system that works together. Each branch ( judicial, legislative, and executive) keep each other in check and try to balance out the power between each branch.

Each team member has a part in order to succeed

Separation of Powers is the dividing of a nation’s power into three separate branches: Legislative, Executive, and Judicial. All have the ability to check the powers of the other branches.

The people are the power of the government

Popular Sovereignty is about the power of the government should be held in the hands of the people. The people run the government and give it all of it power.

Has to have limits

The Judicial Review is about the courts deciding the actions of the other branches, Executive and Legislative. The Judicial branch needs to make sure that the government is following the Constitution. They also need to be sure no branch is getting too much power as well.

the courts has to decide the validity of acts in the other branches?

A Limited Government is basically the government does have limits. The government has to have limits too so it doesn’t get drunk with power. So if the people notice the government is being unfair than they have the rights to stop them and tell them that what they are doing is unfair or equal.
