Pulmonary Embolism
This usually happens when the artery is blocked by blood cot that has traveled from a vein to the legs. In the artery the lungs would be completely blocked and death can occur failure to respiratory failure.
A half dose of aspirin taken with plenty fluids and frequent movement of the arms and legs
MAY PREVENT PULMONARY EMBOLISM
What causes Pulmonary Embolism?
-People at high risk of developing Pulmonary Embolism are the ones who have previous heart attacks, cancer, a fractured hip or chronic diseases.
- Females who use birth control pills maybe at RISK
SIGNS & SYMPTOMS
- Fainting,shortness of breath
- Wheezing tachycardia, rapid heart beat
- Chest pain that may spread to a shoulder arm and even the face
- Diaphoresis
- Hemoptysis
**Treatment **
Patients May rest till the blood is dissolved. Anticoagulants maybe used to prevent new blood clots for forming. Surgeries are not necessary all the time.
