BATTLE OF ANTIETAM

  • Lee dropped his battle strategy which led to the Battle of Antietam.
  • This battle was the bloodiest battle in the Civil War and United States history.

THE BATTLE OF SHILOH

  • Each side lost and gained ground.
  • The Confederates retreated.

  • Lasted six weeks.
  • The Mississippi River was now in Union control.
