WHAT IS PASSOVER?

  • Passover or Pesach is a Jewish festival
  • It celebrates the freedom from slavery of the children of Israel around 1300BCE
  • It starts the 15th of Nisan and ends on the 22nd of Nisan

HOW DID THEY ESCAPE?

  • God helped the children of Israel escape from their slavery in Egypt
  • God did this by inflicting ten plagues

HOW IS PASSOVER CELEBRATED?

  • During Passover no leavened bread is eaten.
  • Men gather for a religious ceremony on mount Gerizim
  • The key thing about Passover is not to tell the history but act it out
  • They play with a Dreidel
