The Chinese prayed to their ancestors for luck and honor, the Chinese protected their graves and in exchange the ancestors helped them.

A bureaucracy is a system of departments and agencies that carry out the work of the government officials and such.

C=Confucianism
Confucianism is a religion used in ancient china that practiced respect for others, good examples and relationships between people.

D=Daoism
Daoism is a religion used in ancient China that practices natural order in nature, yin and yang, harmony, and the universes force.

E=Emperors
The Chinese had many emperors that ruled over that land, untied the people and had absolute control. Emperors were woman and men.

F=Filial Pity
Filial Pity is the act of treating parents with respect which was practiced in Confucianism.

G=Great Wall
The Great Wall of China was built by Shi Huangdi to keep invaders out of china.

H=Han Dynasty
The Han dynasty began in 202 b.c by Liu Bang who re-unified chia once again.

I=Inventions
The Chinese invented many things that we use today like the wheelbarrow, paper and so much more.

Jade was a sacred stone in china that was very expensive. Woman used it for things like necklaces and vases.

Kung Fu is a Chinese martial art such as karate which has devolved over a long period of time throughout history.

L=Legalism
Legalism is a religion used in ancient china that practiced discipline, respect, and order of the laws.

M=Mandate of Heaven
The Mandate of Heaven is the ancient Chinese belief that a good ruler had the gods approval to rule over the people and the land.

N=Nomads
Nomads were early Chinese travelers that traveled in groups of people that had no set home and moved from place to place in search of food and shelter.

O=Oracle Bones
The Chinese used Oracle bones which were animals bones or shells that were used to communicate with god by emperors.

P=Pictographs
Like the Egyptians the Chinese used pictographs for their writing style. Pictographs are simple drawings that represent words or ideas.

Q=Qin
A state in china that was believed to be the inspiration for the name of china.

R=Rivers
Two major rivers flowed in China, the Chang Jiang river and the Huang he river also known as the yellow river.

S=Shang Dynasty
The Shang dynasty began around 2000 b.c it was considered to be the beginning in of ancient china which is the oldest civilization in the world.

T=Terra Cotta
Terra Cotta is baked clay that is used in modern times but was also used for the clay soldiers in a very famous burial ground.

U=Unify
Many emperors tried to unify china as a whole country instead of different states, eventually this was achieved but not until later in history.

V=Villages
There were many tiny villages in china, most along the border were frequently attacked by others and the villages inside china mostly contained farmers.

W=Wudi
From 141 to 87 b.c a man named Wudi ruled china, he was known as the martial emperor because of his achievements in war and gaining land almost to its present day size.

X=Xi'an
Xi'an is one of the oldest cities in china with history dating back to almost 3,100 years, it was also known as Chang'an before the Ming dynasty.

Y=Yin Yang
Yin Yang is a symbol in Chinese culture that symbolizes two opposites in nature, they are always in pairs such as moon and sun, male and female, dark and light.

Z=Zhou
The Zhou people established their dynasty around 1027 b.c. They were one of the first organized Chinese dynasty, however the dynasty ended in a huge state of war.
