Continued
Mountain gorillas live on a herbivore diet. Doing this improves their immune system and allows them to eat whenever they want. In the tropical rainforest plant life in plentiful and can support these animals. Gorillas have also adapted in their teeth. Gorillas have flat teeth making chewing plants easier. Even though they eat a lot of vegetation, they wouldn't turn down grubs. Mountain gorillas are also the largest primate primate left on Earth. Without mountain gorillas plants wouldn't be able to germinate. If we lost these gorillas then eventually the rainforest would suffer. Gorillas share 90% of our genetic makeup.

Why are the endangered?
Their habitats are being taken over. Doing this takes away food source for gorillas, as well as shelter. Pesticides used also harm these animals. Poaching is the number one killer and continues to happen. Disease is also spreading and killing gorillas.

What are we doing?
Mountain gorillas are protected by the army. They are guarded from poachers at all times. Officials also stop the destruction of their habitat. Gorillas are treated when they get sick. We support these gorillas and are trying everything we can to help them thrive.

What can I do?
I can spread awareness that these gorillas are endangered. I could also get a company to sponsor their survival. Another big thing is to stop pollution. Finally I can left these gorillas live just as they did before we killed them.
