Imagine...

• Sitting in your house with some friends...
• Suddenly kidnapped by Russian soldiers...
• Few weeks later you arrive in Russia...
• Begin to learn about Russia, lang, culture, gov., etc.
• Everything you've ever known is suddenly gone...

Meet Daniel

• Babylonians attacked Jerusalem 
• Daniel & 3 buddies are carried off to Babylon
• Guys were young, smart, and good looking
• Food and wine the king would eat
• Educated for 3 yrs on Babylonian customs, etc. 

Daniel

• Food vs. Law of Moses
• Leviticus 3:17
• Daniel requested vegetables and water
• After 10 days their appearance was tested
• Daniel & friends looked better than everyone else

Daniel

• Ignoring his beliefs?
• Just done like everyone else
• No one would have known...
• Living according to the Law made him stand out
• What about you?

YOU

• Difference in you as a Christian and the non-Christian?
• Some claim to be a Christian, but there is no difference. 
• Jesus' death on the cross...
• God calls us to a new life...
• This new life shouldn't look like our old life! 

Courage!

• Daniel had courage to be different! 
• Easy to be just like everyone else. 
• God's will is to be different than the world.
• Romans 12:2

Courage!

• Why is a trapeze artist able to walk the tight rope?
• Net below or the harness attached. 
• Deuteronomy 33:27
• Daniel knew God was with him. This gave him courage.
• God is with you everyday.  Be different!!!

CONVICTIONS

• Daniel had the convictions to be different.
• "Beliefs determine behavior."
• What you believe in your heart...
• Absolutely determines the choices you make!

CONVICTIONS

• If you believe God created this world,
• Sin seperated us from God,
• Jesus died on the cross for our sins,
• Live in a relationship with Him through Jesus...
• Your life will be radically different than others!

CONVICTIONS

• What if our life isn't all that different?
• You might not be convicted by the truth.
• Fast food and heart attacks...
• Smoking and cancer...

CONVICTIONS
Belief so deeply rooted in your life that it changes the way you live!

God calls us to be different!
It's a little daring to be!
But God is our safety net.
Do you have the courage and convictions to be different!

Challenge
Stop talking like everyone else! Whether that means stop cussing, complaining, gossiping, making fun of others, arguing, or disrespecting!
