WHY ARE BESSBUGS IMPORTANT?
Bessbugs (Bess Beetles) are scavengers, so they eat rotting wood.
They turn the rotted wood into smaller pieces.
The pieces will slowly turn into compost.
Microorganisms in the compost release plant food faster as the weather warms up. The food helps other plants grow faster.
