JAGUAR

Chapters 1When Dr. Lansa is asked by his friend Bill Brewster to come to Manaus, Brazil to help in setting up a jaguar preserve, he leaves his 14 year-old son, Jake, at his grandfather's retirement home.

Chapter 2Jake is ambitious to see his father, but still receives no news about it. When he finally receives a fax from his father saying that Jake can come to Manaus for a week he is elated, but many of the people at the home are sad to see him leave for a while.

Chapter 3After five days and a short departure party, Taw, Jake's grandfather, goes with Jake to see Jake's mother's grave, then to the airport.

Chapter 4In Brazil, a mysterious man picks up Jake and takes him to a warehouse full of fruit bats. He tells Jake that Dr. Lansa is getting a boat and will be back in a few days.

Chapter 5 After a good night's sleep, Buzz shows Jake his ultralight. Jake's father and Bill also return with the boat.

Chapter 6After meeting Doc's new girlfriend, Jake has mixed feelings. The boat explodes and two people are injured. One dies.

Chapter 7 After Bill's death the Lansas are depressed. Their boat is gone. Then they meet Silver, a boat captain with a mysterious history.

Chapter 8Afterwards, everyone is depressed and begin to call off the expedition. Then Silver comes to offer his services. Doc and Flanna go with Silver and Jake stays with Buzz to learn to fly the ultralight.

Chapter 9Jake is to learn about the ultralight. He takes it apart and learns to pack its parachute. Then he gets to roll on the ground in it.

Chapter 10Once Jake impresses Doc after training to fly the Morpho, he is assaulted by a man in Silver's cabin.

Chapter 11After laying down rules, Silver tells Jake about his son and wife. Also, they are to keep shotguns close by at all times. On the way up that saw tons of rain forest destruction.

Chapter 12After their boat is damaged, they stop in a village to get repaired. It is rumored that there is a jaguar nearby and someone named Raul could catch it. After explaining how to capture the jaguar safely, Raul still refuses.

Chapter 13Raul comes on board the ship and takes the offer to catch the jaguar. Raul uses techniques to find the jaguar and they capture it. When they take it into the town and cash in on their bets, Raul wins and gives the money to the Indians.

Chapter 14The group continues on the river to complete their mission after the mechanic finishes. They also go up a tributary after Silver insists.

Chapter 15The boat's reverse gear breaks, so it is impossible to turn around on the tributary.

Chapter 16The group makes it to the reserve and they release the jaguars.

Chapter 17After Doc leaves to go with Raul, Jake has time to bond with Flanna and realizes she is very tough.

Chapter 18Jake goes exploring and afterwards goes to a rock that he and Raul had been exchanging gifts on. There is a golden jaguar and he and Silver realize there is a tribe nearby that Jake had been exchanging gifts with.

Chapter 19Doc and Raul had not gotten back yet and this worried Jake and Flanna because of Doc's condition.

Chapter 20When Jake realized that Silver was looking for gold, Jake goes after him and crashes the Morpho.
