Bandicoots, an Aboriginal clan, believed in Dreamtime. Ka-Ro-Ra, their creator god, dreamed of living creatures, such as Bandicoots and Bull-Roarers that turned into humans that he called his sons. Once their only food source, Bandicoots, ran out he sent his sons on a mission to find more food. T-jen-ter-ama, one of Ka-Ro-Ra's many sons, returned from his trip as the very first kangaroo.

A hole where Ka-Ro-Ra slept started leaking honey to the point where it engulfed the entire land of Il-ba-lint-ja. Then all at once the honey and all of his sons got swept underground. Aboriginal tribes hold ceremonies for the dead to ensure that the person's soul returns to its birth place so it can be reborn. To ensure this, the tribe members paint themselves white and cut their own bodies to show remorse for their loss.
Their are two different burials. A primary burial is where the put the body on an elevated platform of sticks and branches for several months until the flesh is removed from the bones. The secondary burial is when the bones are collected to be painted and then dispersed in multiple ways.
